Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information SocialPulse collects, why, and how we protect it. We never sell your personal data.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: your name, username, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash; we cannot see them.
• Activity: tasks you start and complete, points earned and spent, watch time, campaigns and links you submit, invites and reports.
• Security data: a one-way hash of your IP address at sign-up and for rate limiting, used to prevent fake accounts and abuse. We do not store your raw IP address.
• Optional YouTube connection: if you choose to connect YouTube, we use Google's read-only access only to check that you subscribed to or liked the specific content in a task. The access token stays in your browser session and is not stored in our database.

2. How we use it

• To run your account, award and track points, and show your campaigns to other members.
• To prevent cheating, fake accounts and abuse.
• To show public community information such as your name and username on the leaderboard and activity feed, and to creators whose content you helped.
• To improve the website and fix problems.

3. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. We share data only with service providers that host and run SocialPulse (Cloudflare for hosting and database; Google if you connect YouTube), and when required by law.

4. Cookies and storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you logged in and to remember an invite code. We do not use advertising cookies. Embedded YouTube, Facebook and Instagram content may set their own cookies under those companies' policies.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by messaging our Facebook page. Some records may be kept for a short time where needed for security or legal reasons.

6. Security

Data is transferred over HTTPS and stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2, and login sessions use random tokens stored only as hashes.

7. Children

SocialPulse is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and similar laws you may also withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
